I first started working on ‘Murder, You Say?’ in 2019! I kept starting and stopping, setting it aside and wondering how to invest it in something that made me want to finish it. It started life being called ‘Murder in the Village’. Then, as time went on, I realised that what I wanted, was to write something that made me smile, laugh and come alive again at the notion of visiting parts of the country I had never been too, of going to new spaces and places. The lockdown and pandemic had made me cling to isolation and some of that became reflected in my writing and art.
Now that ‘Murder, You Say?’ is out there and I (finally) managed to sort the cover, I am planning to do more research for the next Emerson Chopra book – ‘Murder at Christmas’ (tentative title) – by making short trips to consider different settings for the scenes. I hope to write blog posts about some of those journeys.
In other news, Bailey has been settling into the change in the seasons with her requisite disdain. I have bought her some Halloween toys to get her in the autumnal spirit, but so far she’s not biting!

Wishing you all an amazing writing and creative adventure!
Love,
Olivia and Bailey
